GTG Welcomes GIS Technician Anthony Williams to North Carolina Corporate Office

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announces the recent addition of Anthony Williams, GIS technician, to their North Carolina corporate office.

As a GIS technician, Williams will be responsible for performing GIS services such as creating and ensuring data accuracy.  He will also visit client sites to collect critical GIS data for local government GIS initiatives.

Williams brings a variety of diverse experiences with him to this position.  Williams began his career as a submarine machinists mate in the U.S. Navy.  He went on to achieve Bachelor’s degrees in Geography and Public Administration from North Carolina Central University.  Williams completed an internship with Fugro Earthdata, Inc. and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) where he developed his skills.  He also volunteered at ESRI’s 2009 User Conference in San Diego, Calif.

Williams says that he is most looking forward to ensuring that clients receive a quality product they can depend on.  “I’m excited to know that my efforts will have a positive impact on local governments,” said Williams.  “GIS is a technology with so much potential, and using it to improve communities is exciting.”
